Watson's Ale House is one of a new breed of licensed establishment called a 'micropub'.
Our aim is to serve the finest cask-conditioned beers ('real ale') known to man, in an environment where ale and conversation can be enjoyed together.
Watson's Ale House opened in December 2017 in premises that were previously a tea room, and before that a butcher (the old meat cold store is now our stock room).
Apart from its location in what is arguably Knighton's prettiest street (referred to locally as 'The Narrows'), the key feature of the premises that attracted us was the superb cellar, the sine qua non of any serious cask ale operation.
The Watson's team is Hattie and Tom, who run the pub on a day-to-day basis, together with John, our cellar man and resident cask ale obsessive.
All three of us have extensive experience in the licensed trade and we are confident that a visit to Watson's Ale House will not disappoint.
